    Football Observatory's Research Findings

Interesting reading, and just about proved what most of us have been saying for years that Fergie did spent quite alot of money in assembling Man U's squad contrary to the blinkered belief by some of their fans.

Man U (£291.72million) have spent almost as much as Chelsea (£319.75million) 'at the cut-off date of May 31, 2013' if Torres is excluded from the Chelsea squad according to the latest research findings. Not surprising really.

We all know that Barca are notorious for paying less than the true market value for their players through their underhand scheming (Barca DNA and all other nonsense that they spout to unsettle other teams players) in the market, therefore the fact that they come out on top in the *most valuable squad* chart isn't a surprise. Having the most expensive player (Lionel Messi) in their squad also helps in that respect, a player they bought for peanut and brought up in their academy.

The team that really caught my attention is the Borussia Dortmund squad, I was amazed to find out that Jurgen Klopp only spent £51.43million to assemble his squad and they would have topped the *value* chart if the huge discrepancy caused by the inclusion of Messi in Barca's squad is accounted for.

Analysts at the Football Observatory research centre in Switzerland stated that the most valuable squads in England belong to Arsenal, assemble by Arsene Wenger 'for £168million but is worth £269million, indicating Arsenal have improved the players collectively to the tune of £101million.' .........Not bad eh!

Today's Daily Mail have some of the detailed breakdown in the research findings, btw.
