See that FIFA are hoping to use a comms system in Germany. But they don’t want the public to hear what’s being said:-
"One of the most important things is to make sure there is no interference and that people can't listen into the conversations," said Garcia Aranda, a former World Cup referee.
What have they got to hide I wonder? If this technology is used then surly we the paying public should be able to hear it.
I enjoyed what little of it they broadcast during the 6 nations but as I understand it we won’t get even that!
Make refereeing open.
WHAT HAVE THEY GOT TO HIDE?
It's bad enough having to listen to the drivel spouted from commentators without having to listen to what the refs have to say too, I'd much rather have real atmosphere over rabbiting and bull any day.
Most sports broadcasts in the USA and Australia let you listen to the refs comms traffic. So why not football? It would cut down the opportunities for the refs to take backhanders. Maybe that’s why they don’t want it.
