Totally agree, I have been a big fan for many years, but it started to wane with Schumi's cheating. I don't blame him, he wasn't a sportsman... but he should have been brought to check. But really it's the simple lack of wheel to wheel racing that's killing it. My friends have always thought me mad to watch this sport, and I'm starting to agree with them.
We're in the middle of a 4 week break... ridiculous! And nothing memorable has happened yet. I'm as excited as the next Brit about Lewis, but I'm already sick of the way ITV go one about him, they literally open every section with his name...
Bernie's threats of not having a race in England or France drives me nuts, who the fuck does he think he is? This is our sport and we and France grew the thing from nothing. I don't mind them making a few quid... but suck the thing dry and we wont be watching anymore, then I'd like to see the vultures try to make some money out of it!
I agree the bikes are much more interesting, and I've been getting sucked into the drama of it, and when you add BBC coverage, it's a getting my interest. If things go on this way, very soon I'll be another statistic, like the millions of others who have already stopped following F1.
Have to agree about the ITV coverage with Lewis etc etc... but have you also noticed how many ad. breaks there are, I know that's how they generate revenue, but sometimes the frequency is unwatchable - thank God for Brundle, the only thing that makes it watchable. And, he doesn't go overboard about Hamilton.
