Eeeeeeeee lass - we couldn't afford cheese - we 'ad to make do with tripe :-)
Actually we were only an hour away - it was just the old car that didn't understand that and had to keep stopping for a drink :-)
Remembered the other day how brilliant it was when all the cars on the hill used to hoot there horns. And there was always some bloke who would hoot about 20 seconds after everyone else (probably a minivan) and would start them all off again. Those were the days...............
I drove a MiniCAR so it was n't me! The trouble was the Mini would n't carry the scaffolfing kit for the Eifel tower and veranda that those **** Land Rovers carried. :-) I lived in Suffolk so I wore out the Dunlop Groundhogs (remember those?) in about 5 trips.

There were twin brothers that lived near me. They had a garage as their day job. They used to race Mini`s there.
I`m desperately trying to remember their names. If you can think who I mean, Mick, put me out of my misery. There can`t have been many twins who both raced.
