The Best/Worst Transfers of the January Window.

With the transfer window about to close, which moves would you say have been the biggest coups and which signings do you expect to flop?

For me, Aston Villa's £3.5 million capture of Emile Heskey has got to be one of the best bargains. Heskey has been cracking for Wigan over the last couple of seasons, and should fit in perfectly with Villa's style of play, providing cover and competion for John Carew.

Hull getting Jimmy Bullard for £5 million also looks like a good bit of business, considering Bullard was called up for England just a year ago.

I think Wilson Palacios may turn out to be a world class player, Spurs were shrewd in snapping him up quickly. I'm surprised none of the top 4, particularly Arsenal, were intersted.

As for the worst transfers, Craig Bellamy has got to be a massive rip-off at £14 million. £10 million for Wayne Bridge also seems steep.
I'm not sure what Sam Allardyce sees in El Haji Diouf, but I'd have kept the £4 million.

      my best 4 ransfers:

(Christophe Berra to Wolves - Unless this is only a PL transfer thread.
I like this kid, having seen him with Hearts, and he'll be a good fit for a Wolves team that will be surely in the PL next season. Now if they'd kept Michael Mancienne....)

Heskey to Villa - 3.5M has to be, HAS TO BE a bargain considering that Villa can have an intimaditing front 3 now(Heskey,Gabby & Carew)

Savio Nsereko to WHU - I saw him play for Brescia 3 months ago, before he went to Upton Park, and i can swear on the Crown, he is going to be special.

Craig Bellamy to City - I'll have to disagree with you on this one. I'm a Man United fan, and I like this transfer. Why?

Because Bellamy + Robinho = scary. Imagine Robinho dancing around people and Bellamy whacking those who don't get in the way. And he'd be perfect for the kind of scrap City are in.

Ricardo Quaresma to Chelsea - Simple. Felipao wanted Quaresma. Felipao is gone now. How will this work?!?!?!?!?!?

Robbie Keane to Spurs - Actually, make this ALL ex-Spurs returning.

Proof that Juande Ramos and Damien Comolli were tw@ts.

Matthew Etherington to Stoke - HE DOESN'T FIT TONY PULIS' SYSTEM.Waste of money.

Lassana Diara to Real Madrid/Jermain Defoe to Spurs - The reasons behind Pompey's fall from grace.

    • Hay Rob.

I agree the Aston Villa one but not the BEST. To be honest I think that the Jimmy Bullard one was interesting. But I think Craig Bellamy was the best one.
