Instead of relying on the referee's watch, or 4th official - why not have a MASTER MATCH TIMER which is clearly visible all around the ground, a bit like NFL. Every time the ball is not in play the clock stops, restarting only when the ball is back in play. A full 90 minutes is then played without guesswork for injuries timewasting etc. There would be no argument about added time, as there wouldn't be any - only ever a full 90 minutes of football. End of play at half and full time would be indicated by the timer countdown and loud horn or siren. Clearer for officials, players and fans - and better value for money for the fans too. What does anyone else think?
