People seem to forget that Roy Keane is worth a bob or two and I bet he made more money in his career than Quinn did -- and could lump together serioous backers if he wanted to. I'm not really cl4ear about the call for quinn - O.K. he was a decent player and a nice guy but Sunderland's decline began when Reid wouldn't offload his old mates (like Quinn) and the whole bottom fell out of things.
It wasn't Reid's loyalty to old mates that started our downward spiral, it was the total lack of flexibility in his tactics. Reidy only ever knew one way to play and if it didn't work, he didn't know what to do.
As for Keane, I'd agree that he's probably made more money out of his footballing career than Niall. But remember that Quinny has outside interests that have made him a packet, like racing and properties. Niall is exactly the type of enthusiastic character we need at the club - Roy on the other hand, certainly isn't the corporate type!
