Robert - I take your point, and I can see the sense in what you are saying - the players do need a break especially after a world cup. However, the fact that we have so many first team players out for tonight's game is a massive worry, especially since we have been unable to score in our last three friendlies....I think that the England players should have at least been made to make themselves available to play...even if they are not selected. its like we don't have a backup if things go wrong - look at Celtic last night - shocking result.

Personally, I don't think think its too much to ask our players to play once or twice a week for the duration of the football season. The rest of the days they train in the morning and do f**k all else for the rest of the day apart from play computer games, and go clothes shopping.

    • Sorry these are young fit men we are talking about, isn't it?

Are they not tuned and trained to be at a level of fitness a month off will not dent that?

I agree that training before the season starts bring them to the level required but please 90 mins of work after a month off and another five days off after till second leg..... Not too much to ask for £20,000 to £120,000 per week!

What do they forget how to kick a ball? I know Green forgot how to catch but please it's not rocket science!
