    Sign Cavani!!!!

    Another top post Jason.

I hear its looking more and more likely we will land David Texeira, another uruguayan, he possibley ticks more of the boxes with being younger whicj I can see as being good aswell as bad as we need a goal machine ready to hall ass and score but I think the main benefit will be the uruguay link with super star Suarez at least I hope.....

Grobalaar said we were looking at signing two strikers.....

    We can but hope!!!!

Whether it's 100% true or not, who knows, but based on the fact it's not all over the LFC site in transfer watch with other ridiculous names like, Ozil, Bent, Granero, Higuain, Cavani yada yada.. I feel it could happen, and fits a nice profile of a young South American, who's blossomed very quickly within the Uruguayan setup like Coates, as well in the Eredivise.

He was born in the same town as Cavani and Suarez, and Suarez started at the same club before moving to Ajax. So far has 9 goals in 15 matches, which I think has far exceeded anyone's expectations and if he continues to develop, 8-9M will be a steal. He's just shy of 6 feet, and stocky, but quick, more of a finisher, not creator, so comparisons to Suarez are wide of the mark, I suppose physically he's more like Torres (ironically that's his surname), and he's got good aerial presence and heading ability in the box, unlike our 6'4 #9

I've seen him play on tv once, his last match where he scored and was named MOM, based on what I read and how well the Uruguayan players are doing, has me excited should it be..

Here's a very good video of David, who IF joins, I hope and think will become our version of Chicarito, lighting in a bottle if you will... Focus on how he kicks and heads the ball into the back of the net, not everywhere but..

      • Hi Jason, just had a look at your link and am well impressed with what I saw of young Teixera. Not one easy chance in crowded penalty areas as far as I could see but all brilliantly put away whether with the foot or with the head. Just what we need for the latter half of this season. Lets hope its a done deal.
