    Team to face Brighton?

Well after a poor performance against United, we have the opportunity to kick on in the other cup competition. The League cup final is the following week so its a good opportunity for the lads to impress before a trip to Wembley.

    • Arsenal brought back Henry, Man United brought back Scholes, Everton brought back Landon Donovan and Liverpool brought back racism

    • There can be no overlooking these guys who I was quite impressed with, and didn't they knock out Newcastle? Anyways, imo, Gerrard/Adam can't work as a 2 man mid, and I thought Jay Spearing was very poor vs United and needs a lift, the same with Downing/Kuyt and Jonjo could use some minutes perhaps.. Like to see Bellamy be sharp, perhaps as a 30+ sub

Doni, Skrtel, Enrique, Kuyt, Jonjo, Hendo, Bellamy

    • Seems to have been a lot of speculation that Kenny is going to give Flanagan and Robinson a run out whilst the media are saying Maxi to start. I havent seen anything quoted by Kenny but I hope it doesnt indicate a complete rotation. Brighton knocked out Newcastle in the last round and gave us a hairy ride at their place. They have good wide players, Mckail Smith is a very decent player too so I am concerned a little by the news. No disrespect to the Robbo and Flanno but if they are in the side then you would expect the Jonjos and Carras to slip in as well. Maybe we will be seeing this side:

Subs: Doni, Suarez, Bellamy, Gerrard, Johnson, Skrtel, Adam

    • I'd like to see Stevie in an attacking role, last week he was too deep, I would like us to play 4-2-3-1-, with Carroll up top and Stevie, Luis and Bellers behind him. Back 4 sorts itself out now so I guess Spearing and Adam as the defensive 2. God we've missed Lucas!

unorthodox i know, but i would really like to see shelvey up top. i think his movement is good, and he could play well off carrols knock downs and headers.

would also like to see a run out for aurelio. he gets paid, he may as well play!

i would also have raheem sterling on the bench. Kenny gave a lot of confidence, and chances to the youngsters last season, but seems to have abandoned that philosophy this time out.
