Let's just suppose sometime in the next fifteen months he signs for an English club. I offer five clubs in alphabetical order. Arrange them in the order of decreasing likelihood.

Here's my answer to the question. I suspect he would go most likely go to united if offered any of the clubs. But there's no apparent vacancy at United in the near future. (One United fan I know who I know has the ear of Ferguson says it will happen at the end of next season.)
Next more likely would be City or Chelsea if offered unlimited transfer budget and told to create the best team in the world in three years. Chelsea have a vacancy and a mad enough owner and Chelsea should have Guardiola's respect as his teams have never beaten Chelsea in a single match. However, Chelsea may not qualify for CL next season would be an issue.
I can't see him being interested in Liverpool or Arsenal. Why would he be? He won't get huge transfer money. Liverpool is some distance off the pace and not in CL. Arsenal at best is Barca lite but very very lite.
Maybe if he does want a break he could be put on a retainer as part-time Director of Football at Chelsea while RDM has another season and starts in a year.
Personally I doubt any of them. I take him at his word that he wants some time off but if he wants back in my guess is he'll go to Italy .
But if he did come to England the question is what is he motivated by. If it money obviously city then Chelsea would be top of his list. If he wants to stay pure to his philosophy of football then Arsenal makes the most sense.
Robert I notice you put Chelsea ahead of us..
Well Chelsea is apoisoned chalice for any top manger to go to as long as Abramovich is the owner.. He undermines the manager, demands instant success or you're fired.
Yet at LFC he'd be given full support of the owners, have similar ideas to what FSG have in mind for LFC. He's lauded our youth set up as comparable to that of Barcelona's. Our playing style is similar to Barcelona's. Except for one notable exception their players are superior to ours.
Contary to belief FSG do have deep pockets when it comes to signings.. Our club isn't in debt. Our league form is due to one major factor.. We don't havequality strikers who can finish.
Logic dictates that Guardiola would bring in decent strikers..
So there you have it..
Of course I can't read Sep's mind.. I can only hope that he gives us serious consideration.. Thats of course depending on what FSG decide..
Of course we've KD in charge and I'm not insulting him or fans of his by making this thread. Just merely exploring the options should it become possible.
14 trophies in 4 seasons isnt bad but this guy inherited Xavi, Messi, Valdes, Puyol, Iniesta, Busquettes, Abidal, Pique, Alves, Keita, Eto'o and Pedro. I reckon Terry Connor could win the league with that lot!
Does anyone think that Guardiola will be able to get Spearing to be the new Iniesta or turn Dirk Kuyt into a 60 goal a season midget? No, I dont think so, this I guess means people think that he would bring in the right players to make them play a similar way so its worth having a look at his transfer history:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic - A snip at 46m Euros plus the (at the time) most prolific hitman in the world Eto'o, lets just call it 69m Euros for a guy they sold the next season for a bargain loss of 47m Euros. Makes Andy look good value.
Dmytro Chygrynskiy - Long term Puyol replacement bought from Shaktar for 27m Euros and took to the la liga like a long haired Jonathon Woodgate. Returned home after one season for a 12m Euro loss.
Henrique - 11m Euros from Palmeiras, spent 4 years out on loan with, wait for it, 0 appearances for Barcelona before being released on a free. Great defender.
Keirreson - £16m Euros for a striker who has been out on loan 5 times making a staggering 0 appearances, set to be released this summer.
Alex Hleb - 17m Euros from feeder club Arsenal, Hleb went on to score 0 goals for Barca before going out on loan and failing to perform at midlands giants Birmingham City. Now plying his trade in Russia having failed to bring in anything in the way of a transfer fee.
Martin Caceres - £16.5 m Euros from Villareal, 16 first team appearances then sold for 3m Euros, another great piece of business.
Javier Mascherano - £22m from ourselves is a lot of money for cover at centre half for a player who looked the best destructive midfielder since Makelele. Not really a flop but he is no centre half, as the in form Torres found out last week.
They cant all be bad, Villa was electric in the 1st half of his 1st season before hitting a 16 game drought as Guardiola pushed him out wide, started this season angry at being played wide and tipped to leave again this summer at a loss on their 40m Euro investment. Affelay was only 3m Euros and despite not having much impact, is sure to realise a profit when he is inevitably sold this year. Maxwell, Adriano, Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez have all been ok but not heavily influenced the side despite clearly being excellent players but at 80m Euros, you would expect a few of them to nail down starting berths!
Dani Alves is an undoubted success but at 35m Euros, you would expect a pretty tidy right back and as far as I can see is the only Guardiola signing who starts every week. People are getting very excited about the idea of him replacing Kenny but be careful what you wish for!

Fair play Peter. You've highlighted my concerns exactly.
Managing Barcelona, to me, is not exactly proof that your a top class manager. Sure it's not an easy job with the levels of expectation there now but does he have the quality that's needed to rebuild a club. I doubt it as you've pointed out with some of their transfer dealings. In fact it seems that Abramovich wants Pep. He may go for the pay day as I fully expect him to fall on similar times to AVB. The job AVB started at Chelsea is still there and just got harder on year on.
Also Rijkaard hasn't done much since leaving Barca either remember.
You beat me to it armchair. i was just thinking the same thing..
Could be interesting, from reading the papers i hear pep is looking for a new challenge. Lfc would be a very good challenge. I doubt though.

I think he'll either go to Man City or Chelsea (although that's a poisoned chalce of a job for any manager)..
I agree if he was up for a challenge then why not take us on?
As you say it's not up to us it's up to FSG. to decide..
If I were FSG I'd be going all out to get Pep Guardiola.
