    Team to face Newcastle?

I'm going to assume that Glen is not fit, its uncertain whether he will recover for Sunday, Pepe seems to be ok though having made the bench for the weekend. Huge game here against last seasons pretenders to the the top 4, properly dangerous forwards and a knack of scoring goals without being in control of matches. This is a real benchmark to see if we can improve on last season or not. With the table lining up as it is, a win could make good movement for us with a first visit of the campaign to the top half being the likely reward, we certainly dont want to be drifting out of the the second batch of teams.

Subs: Jones, Shelvey, Suso, Coates, Carragher, Henderson, Yesil

It's quite likely that Suso will start ahead of Suarez but I quite fancied Assaidi's pace for this one, an impact sub could well be his role.

    • The results today mean that we have a big opportunity to stay in touch with the Euro places if we can beat the Toon.

We've got a good record against them at home so I am strangely confident! 2-1 Pool.

      Come on the reds.

    • Quite obviously, I meant Suso start ahead of Assaidi, not Suarez! Please Suarez, dont kick anyone, you will miss the Chelsea game. I think it is reccomended to get the yellow in that game and sit out Wigan at home, lets be honest, he will be picking that card up at some point!

      • Hey Hobbs

Personally I'd rather have him for the Wigan game. We have more of a realistic chance of winning that one and need to pick up 3 points against our rivals - Chelsea certainly aren't that this season.

      • yeah Suarez is on eggshells now.

For me ths game is a must win. We would swap places with Newcastle and possibly go 10th if Swansea lose to Chelsea. Lose it and we could go as low as 16th and will be losing touch.

        It's a scary one.

maybe Shelvey in for Sahin to add some steel?

Assaidi? Why not, he'll certainly have a go and give Newcastle something to think about.

Finally does Reina really deserve his place back? Jones has done alright when played behind our strongest back 4
