I think Wenger is protected against himself to some extend. With Giroud out he can't play a striker too slow and only good at holding up the ball and linking up, with Arteta out he is protected to play a player not fast enough and not good enough to play DM and with Ozil out he is protected to play Ozil in the wrong place and to play a player who does not always seem up for it.
I just hope Wenger will play Ox on the wing as replacement for Ozil. Ox has a lot to learn but I prefer his directness and speed. It is time IMO we play with only one real nr 10 and three speedy forwards in Sanchez, Welbeck and Ox. Cazorla as nr 10 behind them would do me fine.
A move away for Ozil will remove any obstacle standing in the way of us signing Khedira.
We can then allow Arteta and Flamini go at the end of the season.
I can't help but keep an eye on Song too. I wouldn't mind getting him back next summer.
I agree on Song. In his final year with us he was quite good, both going forward and defensively. A bit more box-to-box than either Arteta and Flamini IMO.
The one that starts to look worse and worse was not picking up Cesc. We could have let go of Rosicky and or Cazorla IMO, both of whom are older and have fewer seasons left at the top. Cesc would have needed no time to slot in.
I hope you are right John, Ozil just does not fit in this league and if he is let go sooner rather than later Arsenal can recoup a decent amount for him before his reputation is really tarnished. I cant blame Wenger for signing him, sometimes the player just doesnt fit for whatever reason no matter how good he is. Kagawa and Veron are two great examples.
Arsenal need a powerhouse in midfield, Carvalho, Tiote, the Kenyan lad at Southampton, any will be a huge improvement.
No attempt of a reply now in over 2 days!"
Oh no! You must be suicidal!!
Or doubled over with pain
Come on Butch lets have one of your
fav songs. 'The Outback Cowboy.'
aha aha ah ah ha ha ha harrrrrhhhhaaaa ah h ha ha ha ha Just call me The NEMESIS!
Cesc would have been direct competition for Ramsey and in my mind, Ramsey has the potential to be just as good if not better than Cesc.
The only issue is Ramsey is a bit more injury prone.
Ramsey will never be as creative as Cesc, however he is more dynamic. I like Wilshere and Ramsey infront of DM powerhouse (like Song?), but both are so injury prone and I dont see that changing.
AAAAARRRRHHHHH! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha That's hilarious.....that will have them rolling the aisles on the Arsenal board
OINK is off in the morning, doing and seeing things his namesake can't afford to do!
Don't forget to keep an eye on his photo album, like a good little fishy!
LMFAO!!! - in other words, you're off to the off-licence to buy yourself a couple of cans of 'tramp juice' before heading off to the park to flash your decrepit OLD body at the children playing there.
You really are one extremely sad, silly, flatulent OLD woofter that I continually laugh at.
For someone who gives it the big "I am" like you do, you've spent an incredibly large amount of your time living on the Yahoo forums, like at least 24/7 of the last decade.
Lovely to know that I've wound you up so much, it brings a huge smile to my face! - ROTFFLMFAO!!!
Looks like the OLD tranny from Cairns is off to join the fairies alright, heading off the off-licence for a few tins of 'tramp juice' and make a fool of herself in public!
We all know what happens when those brags of "I'm going away" start from that OLD woofter, within a matter of hours she's posting on here, either that or sweetblindness magically reappears trolling everyone's posts!
He's 'On Tour' at the moment doing his rounds of the clubs in his show he calls " My Life Among The Natives in the streets of Cairns and the steaming jungles of Borneo, and Bali, living of the land, and anyone who would give me a pint, including Orangutans........
Arsenal do seem to get more than their fair share of injuries.......Just unlucky or something else like not resting players when they show very early signs? I would not have thought so but Wenger knew Ozil was playing with a niggle and did not force him to rest (Ozil said he wanted to carry on)!
Same as you Aaron.............I thought Wenger had signed a gem, especially as he initially looked very good indeed. I also agree that if an offer close (ish) to his signing fee is made......get rid before his value plummets.
I read a transcript of a comment by Wenger in which he conceded that Ozil had told them at half time during the Chelsea game that he heard a crack in his knee. Wenger said he told the physio to keep an eye on the situation but played him the entire 2 nd half. Wenger said he was surprised because there had not been any contact.
The mind boggles at these comments.
Freddie was a complete team player, whereas Marc did have his favourites.
I remember him going a string of matches where he purposely played the ball behind Anelka when he passed to him. He didn't like Anelka's big headedness and so he scuppered many chances for him to score.
He was lightening quick, but he was a LW and I have Pires in that position. Freddie was a RW and the only replacement I could think of for him would have been the Romford Pele.
But I ran out of subs.
If you wait for it to be better, it can be a short time. If you want to get rid of it completely, it is long term. We will monitor him and as soon as he can take enough pain again he will play.’
The above is quote from Wenger regarding Laurent Kos injury.
In the past we have rushed players back or allowed to have mildly injured players stay on the pitch, all resulting in longer term injuries. Koscielny is our best CD, we are clearly too thin in that position but why not sacrifice the short term for the long term. To have him play as soon as he can take the pain will never put the injury problem behind him and will never have us see Koscielny at his best. I would rest him until he can play pain free or until the injury is gone. Playing our best players when they are slightly injured will prolong our injury problem and will have our best players play below par.
Well oh dear we cant let the poor dears wear themselves out now can we. Well not for that money. Its disgraceful the work they are put through. Having said that though, there are very good players out there who would give their right arm to even get on Arsenal bench, never mind play. So what do you think AW meant when he said 'as soon as he can take enough pain again.....' ? Was he just saying ' I'm sick of these ballerinas paid a fortune for dancing around the pitch and getting blown over by a puff of wind. Then want weeks off on full pay...' Seems he was taking the rise out of people like you who probably have never had to do daily work outs and face 90 minutes of 'hard graft' for wads of money a week......Its a bloody hard life. In the mean time " what about the workers" ??? It used to be a pork pie, a pint of bitter, a packet of cigs, a cloth cap and a rattle once upon a time. Not any more. So #$%$ the footballers at the top. Personally the way 'football for the people' is going it doesn't matter a damn to me, if Hull turn Arsenal over tomorrow. Wenger should just walk away and give the basterds the finger. He's crazy taking anymore of the #$%$ thrown at him if he doesn't win. People like you Govinda will only understand once he has gone. Then you can move on and take your #$%$ to the next bloke who's mug enough to take the job on.
