    Transfer rumours roundup

    by outlaws_9 Jun 21, 2012 10:35

Steve Bould is another yes man, a crap coach who will be another puppy dog. We need a defensive coach who will face up to AW, Adams would do that but AW knows so Tone would never get the job.

He's been amazing in the last three games but now he's penned a contract extension will his performance revert back to that of old?

    Swap Wenger for Moureen!!!

He spent £226 million at Chelsea in 3 years and 370 million Euros at Real and Inter. That's a new Emirates stadium every three years. Stan or Usma would need to dig deep, not going to happen then.

Would be good though, he's won 16 major trophies.

Yesterday was the second biggest 'writing on the wall' day since the 8-2. AW may choose to ignore the chants of you don't know what you're doing but no manager survives that for too long. And yesterday showed that at times AW does not know what he's doing. We CLEARLY need additional players of quality and experience because the ones we have don't perform consistently. We had an awful start, picked up for 10 or so games but have now slumped again. The squad is not strong enough. Financial prudence and long term sustainability are important but without ECL cash we'll descend the slippery slope. We need a change and I believe that if we don't qualify for the ECL then AW will finally fall on his sword.

You can have him for half that, and he wants wants £5m a year deal for five years.

He may have been played out of position but he's past 'development age' so he's about as good as he's ever gonna be. He's just a Whippet of no great pedigree.

Have read the comments on yesterday's fiasco with interest. Yes Arshavin is a clown and should go, Yes Yossi might have been a better choice if Ox was tiring (though I don't think he was) Yes Djourou ain't a full back, Yes we've failed to fill the OBVIOUS gaps in this window. BUT why oh why do we persist with Walcott, what the $%^& does AW see in this overated clown, Any defender worth his salt would relish the prospect of marking this lightweight one trick pony off the park. He is crap at the moment and has been all season, over a year since he scored at the Emirates. A joke.

    Wake Up To Reality

    by The Londoners Jan 17, 2012 15:19
    Draytongooner Draytongooner Jan 18, 2012 10:42 Flag

Good post but how much of it said before? Sad thing is that whether people come on here just to slag off, or come to offer constructive comment, none of us have any influence whatsoever. We can see it as plain as day
    1. Replaced world class quality with dross
    2. Gave said dross ridiculous contracts that means nobody will take them off our books
    3. Persisted with an ageist policy that saw quality players at 29/30 walk out the door
    4. Expected youth to flourish in the absence of experience
    5. Persisted with an arrogant attitude that meant that if AW saw a vision for a player then that was the way it's gonna be, regardless of performance or outcome
    6. Put financial prudence before the fans and the trophy cabinet

And the last one is the the most self defeating. It means that we will probably drop out of the CL next year barring a major late season revival. This means that the likes of RVP will move on and any similar world class players will not come. We will have to endure Evertonian mediocrity, we will slide down the pecking order, AW will go eventually. We will probably end up with a novice ex player or a has been, any manager with real ambition would not be attracted by the money grabbing board who would stifle any financially funded rise to glory. Maybe the Russian is our only hope, and FFS I DONT MEAN ARSHAVIN!!!

Dave - Go see your doctor, get some selective seratonin reuptake inhibitors, Cetalopram 20mg should do the trick, they're antidepressants.

OK so we lose RVP, Walcott, Rambo, Song, Sczesny, TV, Sagna, Merts, & Kos to Barca, Real & City. We've still got Chamakh, Bendtner, Rosicky, Squillaci, AA, Djourou, Almunia AND Flapianski. Denilson is still only on loan, I hear Mark Hughes is using Rangers as a stepping stone to replace AW. The future's bright mate.

Coquelin is now out "for a few weeks" and hamstrings don't heal quickly, TV 10 days, Sagna is still 2-3 weeks away, Jenkinson longer, Gibbs a month and Santos 3 months. Back four of Djourou, Kos, Merts, Yannaris doesn't fill me with confidence. Miquel looked OK the other night but Leeds are a different prospect to Man Utd - best we can hope for there is Djourou Merts Kos TV. Surely there's got to be a right fullback that we can get on loan?

He was pretty awful for us second half of last season, thought because he knew he was on his bike, playing with fabregas probably made him look good. And Fabregas was awesome for barca last night, was like watching your old girlfriend shagging someone else

Do you work for Prozone or something? You need to send a CV to the board and join the scouting team. Good post.

O'Neil would be a return to the George Graham days, and as much as GG did for the trophy cabinet that style of management is no longer suited to winning in the modern era. Keeping second rate teams up and booking the odd excursion to Poland in the Europa maybe, being part of the elite and playing semi finals at the Bernabau, never. Sunderland, Bolton, Fulham, Villa, Everton, Blackburn, that's where the likes of MON belong.

    Strong end to the season?

    by AndyPandy Jan 4, 2012 11:29

"Sagna, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Wilshere, Diaby, and Henderson."

Sagna, and Jack are both big returns, and TV shouldn't be out for long. Gibbs is still a way off so we need cover at left back in the window. I've said before TH12 is a nostalgic indulgence and no real fix for the fact that we need another quality striker long term. And AoC should get more time on the pitch while Walcott is throwing his teddy around, six assists and two goals in twenty starts and he wants 90,000 a week for 5 years . . . .

I'd like to see two or three come in in january, though they may be CL cup tied, and god knows what we will do if Sczesny picks up a knock.

At best we can expect to battle for fourth, unfortunately the spuds are looking dangerous, they got the points against WBA in a game that we might have struggled on current form. We will be fighting it out with Chelsea. Perhaps 'Arry will get banged up though!

CL is all about the draw, and yes we can beat anyone on our day, but anyone of CL quality will be able to exploit the deficiencies of Djourou, Squillacci, Chamakh, Arshavin, Diaby and Flap if they are the ones that have to play.

Another case of the writing being on the wall but AW doesn't seem to be able to read it. Squilacci, Djourou, FFS they shouldn't be on the pitch. Our injuries at the back have been a nightmare and we should have had two loans or buys done and dusted. TH12 can only be a bit of nostalgic indulgence. Splash the money now or we'll be lucky to get into the Europa, RVP will be off followed by a stream of others.

    Could Wenger Resurrect Torres ?

    Draytongooner Draytongooner Dec 14, 2011 16:37 Flag

Bang on with Torres hamstrings, he just can't do it like he could, same as Owen. so £20m would be way too much and they won't loan him in the EPL, especially to us.

Full backs a major worry though, baines? can't see them letting him go

    January Transfer Targets

Well at least he's now hinted that our financial position means that we could spend 'if the right opportunity comes along'. We could benefit from strengthening in most areas as squadwise we are weaker than our strongest competitors. GK No 2 is a worry, fullbacks are a worry, Central defense we're OK, midfield could use some grit but would be a luxury if Frimps keeps progressing. Definately need another striker, even two as Park is not good enough, Chamakh and AA could be off (and no great loss there). I suspect we will see some action.
