  • 1989 and that dagger through the heart with the last kick of the season.

Can you believe how poor Johnno, Skrtel and Sakho were in that last 10 minutes?

To be fair, I blame Rodgers to a certain extent. The Chelsea game, he should have told the boys to sit back and allow Chelsea more of the ball, we only needed a draw at the time, and last night, bringing Moses on instead of a CB? He should have also told the lads to settle for 3 nil and not pour forward so much - he spoke to Lucas repeatedly so he had plenty of opportunity to do that. Am I being unfair in view of how good we've been this year? Yes, but I want my cake and eat it!!!!!

  • I think it would be good if he did. I watched him past time he played after injury and he really does suffer from a lack of match fitness. I hope that statement doesn't bite me on the bum! I really think dzeko would be more of a threat to our defence this particular game.

  • This is where I think its gonna be won and lost this weekend. Do we play Coutinho? Or do we take out Toure from the game by having Allen or Lucas trailing his #$%$ all game?

Its a tough one, but I think I would use Coutinho as an impact player on this one and have Allen in a diamond midfield. I know Lucas did well at West Ham, but does he have the pace we will need on Sunday?

    Summer transfer window

    by Loki Mar 8, 2014 20:15

Perhaps they have been clever in terms of misinformation and misdirection of other teams. I've gotta admit though, I do like the look of Salah in terms of pace - I regret we missed out on him. Anyway it looks like M'Vila could be on his way which would add some real steel to the middle, if he comes, could it be the end of Lucas?

  • I've got to admit boys, this summer's transfer window is a bit of a worry - simply because we seem to be the best scouts for the other clubs, and the number of players we've lost to other clubs in the last couple of years.

When we're selling the club to these players, we need a great big screen showing the number of minutes Salah and Willian have played for Chelsea. Maybe that will help! I guess being in the CL might also make a difference.

  • All those lovely Thursday trips to Kazakhstan - lovely! Seriously though, look how we have benefited from not being in Europe, if those b@stards aren't, that might give them the shot in the arm they need too

Even Jose is starting to believe

    by Paddy Feb 14, 2014 11:43

Its funny how opposing managers rip into us when they see us as a threat - but it works sometimes so youve got to expect it. Dont forget that Mourinho is still bitter about us not offering him the managers job a few years ago because they interviewed him realised he wasnt humble enough......or some other #$%$.

For me, I think we have to go for first, otherwise what's the point? Mourinho is right, we only need to play once a week. One thing is for sure, we will not have a better opportunity because the others are going to mop up all the best players in the summer - I think our squad can cope, we've just got to stop the f ups at the back. I'm glad Daniel is back, because Toure has played more than even he thought he was going to!

    Biggest Match in 5 years?

    by Jason Feb 6, 2014 23:12

I don't know about the biggest match, but that first half an hour was about the best I have seen performance wise - if that Suarez effort had gone in I would have c*me into my pants!

This is why results like the WBA really get to me because they have the tools and the talent, but they just don't as a team have that consistency of mentality.

That's why for me, the games against the smaller sides are 'bigger', because it shows whether there is any complacency in the minds of the boys, anyone can get up for games against the big boys.

To be fair though, that was f*cking awesome attacking play - Arsenal didnt have a clue what to do. Next week is going to be a real b@stard of a game as a result of today!

Our First (maybe) & Last Signing ?

    by Jason Jan 26, 2014 17:19

This proves that we're not an attractive club to players any more. How many times have we been gazumped by other clubs?

I really fear for our top 4 chances because I think squad size is really going to play a massive part in the next 4 months. Spurs have the man power that we don't............if we dont get top four, we are totally fooked for the next few years at least!

Now we know where we are

    by Loki Dec 29, 2013 22:31

Let that be true! It will be interesting to see the dosh available to Brendan, but we know enough about him to trust he knows what's needed. What we won't do is buy 38 players like Spurs and try and integrate them in one go. He's going for a more organic approach.

  • It was said we will have a better idea of our title credentials after this week. Well now we know!

    1) The squad is short on quality behind the first 11
    2) Because no one is pushing Johnson, he's turned into Pepe Reina!
    3) we are desperate for a beast who can control the middle

We have to address this next week - 3 players of suitable quality must be out there. Twice in a week we've let a winning position slip.

Etihad - Well Done & My Biggest Issue

    by Jason Dec 27, 2013 19:50

I think he was told not to go beyond the halfway line until we went behind. My thoughts are that there is no way on Earth we are going to offer deals to either Moses or Cissokho. They are totally #$%$

There is a wider issue though. At the end of the day we have not got a positive result at a contenders place - it doesn't matter how we played, we still lost. Until we can start to consistently get results at four or five grounds - and beat them at our place, we will be also rans.

    Our "TEAM" Defending..

    by Jason Dec 21, 2013 20:36

I agree with all that. If we didn't give away stupid free-kicks in dangerous areas the set piece thing wouldn't crop up. One major bugbear I have is Hendersons shooting. He always seems to hit them into the ground! Don't get me wrong i think he's playing well but.....

If we follow last seasons form after Christmas this season we migh actually be in the mix come may time. One thing is for sure, we will never have a better chance than this season.

  • This maybe as stupid a statement as you could get, but is it me or does the team look quicker and more balanced now? We have not really missed Stevies set piece deliveries/ cross-field passing and we certainly haven't missed Studge's goals. I think they both will have a bit of trouble getting back into the team (hopefully) in the same way Agger has.

Its hard to believe that he was a golden boot winner before he came to us. Hopefully being dropped will buck his ideas up.....with Allen starting to look like the player he was before his injury, Lucas's place is really under threat.

    Suarez new deal

    by Colyn Dec 20, 2013 15:17

I agree with that. Now there are only 5 or 6 clubs in the world who can afford him - and three of those are in this country. ITs good news all around. Lets hope we can seal a CL place this season because there will be an unequivocal clause in his contract this time. If there isnt he needs to sack his agent!

  • Apart from being my favourite cup size! - we are linked again with Diame and Damiao in January. I would be very happy to add some mobile muscle into the middle, and the Brazilian speaks for himself. Please let it be true, I just hope the Americans realise the time is now to invest in some quality to guarantee that top 4 slot that we all covet so much. Although I dont believe it will happen, this year will be the best chance we have had for some time in winning the league as well!

  • To be beaten by Hull is totally out of order. Even bloody crystal palace beat them last week. If we don't get top 4 this year we are screwed for a long time in terms of money, attracting players etc. We have the month from Hell coming up, and we've already lost 3 games, 2 to opposition we should be destroying on a bad day. Not good enough!

    Saturday's Line Up

    by Jason Nov 1, 2013 16:34

I think that the 3 cb's is to accommodate our 2 boys up front and keep the midfield full of bodies. I could be wrong, but Arsenal have a lack of width due to injuries so I like the idea of wing backs for this game. The fact that Flamini is out may make Rodgers think that we only need one holder with Gerrard and Henderson pushed forward a bit. If needs be in the game, Stevie can drop to play alongside Lucas. The question is whether little Phil is gonna play, I doubt he will from the start but would come on later. It's time to be bold !
