Sorry but being at the game last night and watching Defo while off the ball his works so hard all game! This is why he is scoring he is constantly making runs and causing problems for the defense, just because 90% of what he does is off camera doesn't mean he is doing nothing ;)

"In defense of AVB, defoe hardly touched the ball in the sixty minutes he was on"

OK, so if he dropped back into mid filed to get involved who then would have been in front of goal to score??

The problem was clear, no link to the striker from mid field (where Dempsey should have been)

Personally I would have brought Ade on in place of Dempsey to give the little man someone to work with.

Who knows if it would have worked or not BUT (and this is why I'm so mad at AVB) if it hadn't worked I could have at least know WHY the change was made and that it made some kind of sense.

    Time to panic??

It's not how the team were playing that I'm questioning though.

    It's the tactics he deploys.

"We cant get the ball to our striker" - "I know!!!!" - "I'll change the striker"

If AVB makes changes and we as fans can see why he made them but the player doesn't do what we'd expect them to, then that's a player not performing, not AVB making a bad decision.

He is making bad decisions, ones no one else can understand is the problem. Not about a New style, Injuries or a Reduced depth of squad........

    lol oh dear Jabba,

Having watched the game myself I have to say Spursbabe's post was bang on the money.

AVB's job is to watch what is going wrong and right on the pitch and make correct decisions to adjust the team to perform at it's best capabilities on who is available to play.

This he did not do and it was his poor decisions that cost us the game.

I for one and very glad the ENTIRE crowd boo'd the decision to remove Defo as fingers crossed it will make AVB think about why they boo'd and maybe realise what a stupid decision is was.

  • At home, playing a lone striker who is getting no service as we have lost the midfield link and AVB's answer is to swap one striker for another??

The crowd's reaction said it all, I have NEVER heard fans boo a substitution before en mass!

Everyone in the ground could see what a stupid, pointless sub it was except the man doing it.

Rednap had the tactical brain of a doormouse but even he looks like genius compared to AVB.

And when is he going to drop Dempsey, christ he is awful!

In my opinion, Defo needs a whole season being the number 1 striker at Spurs and plays every game when fit. THEN we can see if he is the goal scorer we all hope he is.

Personally I think he will be, but time and number of games played (Full games not a 5 min cameo at the end of a match) will tell.

    What team would you pick?

    by Sfer Sep 5, 2012 15:56

All you have to do is partner Defo with someone (Ade) and give them both a good run of games together (8 or more) and sit back and watch the goals come pouring in.

    Playing two up front?

One holding and one attacking midfielder?

Wish someone would send AVB a memo explaining these simple obvious ideas he cant seem to grasp!

Such a shame if he does go.

Good player and a nice guy.

My Uncles sister works at the lane and she always says he is the one real gent in the whole place, always the first to volunteer for good causes, first out to sign autographs and spend time with people, always polite and just a nice guy all round.

  • Spurs are gonna get their 4rses handed to them.

No playmaker, shocking looking defence, one midget striker.

Anyone else as worried as I am about this season??????

  • Spurs win
    Newcastle win
    Arsenal lose

Spurs get 3rd and the scum get a cold trip to the arse end of Russia to play Europa.

    Here's hoping!!!!

  • Getting sick of the only guy able to knock goals in every game he plays not getting the run of starts he deserves in games.

I'd like to see Defo start the next 5 Prem games.

    Your thoughts?

  • Apparently Harry Redknapp may get community service and be asked to use his status and position to help some of London's most needy.
Arsenal have asked if he could take training once a week.

  • Once Lennon became crook I thought the obvious thing to do was slot Kranjcar out on the right and leave the rest of the team as they are.

Harry seems to be determined to rather fiddle about with a working side than just play Kranjcar? Why put him on the bunch if your going to refuse to play him?

All good if the problem wasn't that he want to go home to Argentina to be with his family!
Moving to Spurs would not solve that problem.

Shame cos he would be a great buy.

    The positives are.

There are 99 points left to take in the season.

Every team has an off day (I'm a spurs fan, I know that more than most! lol)

You'll be up fighting the top four spaces come the end of the season

ed, I've just got back from Holland and after watching your mum blowing a donkey in the red light district to scrape together enough money to feed her crack addiction for another day I cant help but feel a slight satisfaction knowing exactly where you came from, and why you have the mental capacity of a gooner.

    P.S.
Please stop your mum from blowing donkeys. Its upsetting them.
