All valid points...but I meant manager-wise....surely if the yanks are consistent we want to be finishing higher than 8th and reach two cup finals. If last season was an abject failure then I hope they recruit a top manager rather than a 'cheap', up and coming, mid-table one....or am I just being mischievous
..dream on...he is culpable for 'getting rid' of Carroll and bringing in Borini (who it looks like he's already given up on) - Ian Ayre possibly for haggling over 'pennies' to bring a much needed striker...but the people with the biggest responsiblity are 3,000 miles away watching their investment devalue rapidly because they haven't the talent, or a clue, about what to do next..
...really, Stoke?...come on, we've got to expect to beat these teams at home if we even want to finish mid-table

J Henry :
“The FA Cup would not have made any difference had he won it,” said Henry. “For us we were 17th over the second half of the season and Liverpool should not be in that position. I don’t place the blame on Kenny and Steve (Clarke) – but I think it was obvious to every Liverpool fan that something was wrong and something needed to be done."
..as we are 10 games away from a similar milestone (the Villa game on 15th Dec) I have been optimistic and reckon we may get another 10 points by then - this could be around the 14th to 17th mark.
Who do you think we should go for then?

Heehee - you are funny Bob....been pressing <F5> every minute since lunchtime, so you could pour out your worthless opinions?
So, if I call Terry an adulterous son of a b**** during a game is that one (because it's in the same sentence) or two instances of abuse - or is it none because it's the truth.
Is it a fact that Terry's case was based on actual 'real' evidence & was Suarez's based on quite a different agenda?
I've probably given you and another resident 'sage' a lot to go on there so I might come back in a week or so to learn from you...or then again I might not...

Manchester United - Newcastle United
19.35’ Bit of news for you from Old Trafford. Wayne Rooney and Darren Fletcher start for United, but there may be a delay in proceedings due to heavy flooding in London that is stopping fans from getting to the ground.

Hopefully Ian Ayre will have signed 'Mickey Mouse' by accident on the loan forms - oh, I forgot, that is his real name...
And I would imagine BR is sat on the toilet right now & preparing another 1800 page CV for his next job with Accrington...

Optimistic..lets see who has a comparible or better squad than us...
..and I don't think that is being overly cynical

Ian Ayre & Rodgers left Anfield at 10pm tonight (and turned off the lights by the looks of it).
...don't hope for anything would be my advice - and get ready for a rough 9 months

Blimey Bob, you were quick back from Monaco....did you leave at half-time?
Anyway, you're right we'd be a nutcase to let AC go without back-up..where have I heard that before...not from our manager was it?
Anyway, I wonder who we've got lined up next - as if we finish lower than 8th & ONLY win the league cup & ONLY get to the FA cup final, I expect the current 'flavour of the month' to be given the boot.
Goodnight - another season over :-)

I think if I was Dempsey I would have been well insulted at a £4m offer & I'm not surprised if he has opted for Spurs - good luck to him.
And well done to the yanks for another lesson in total incompetence - they are really proving good at that

I saw Rushie in the stands on Thursday against Hearts, maybe we're signing him back on.
P1ss poor by Liverpool yet again, even the playstation managers on here can see we needed a striker - and again our mis-management is being defended by the blind...
EXTREMELY bad moves to let Carroll go with no sure-fire signing.
A farce - nearly as bad as Chelsea tonight.

Totally agree with the media-hype bit....
2 things though for you & I to consider..
1).What constitutes a big name manager - Di Matteo? - he's won the FA Cup & the CL - or is he what he was 3 months ago - a nobody?
2).The '2 years max' bit - if FSG have any balls he will be going in approx 1 years time if we don't finish 4th...as will every manager after that, if that target isn't met.

I think we need to keep this in perspective....as far as we are aware no one has been offered or rejected the job.
We've just got some press regurgitation of names going on - as happens every time a premier league manager position becomes available. No doubt it will happen at least once every month or so next season.
Calm down lads :-)

I don't often engage with 'virtual' supporters any more, but I have to say that you are probably in need of a few hours away from a PC and in need of a few years in touch with reality. My impression of you is that you are disappointed in our season - aren't we all - but I'd ask you to imagine that you are a supporter of Blackpool, who have just lost a play-off to WHU - or a supporter of Bayern, who have finished the season with nothing...
Dalglish actually won a trophy this year and was unfortunate not to win the FA cup. His team finished 8th in his 1st full season in charge - with possibly the highest 'hitting-the-woodwork' stat in modern history. Unlucky or rubbish - fine line.
I'm not saying he was perfect but I'll remind you of that phrase ' took the correct decision to sack Dalglish..' in 9 months time - when our next manager is getting sacked.
