Get Ready For The Big One

    by Alan H May 29, 2013 13:50

I think Bale wIll be happy to stay Alan in spite of all the underhand tapping up by unreal madrid if not i hope D Levy gets maximum buck's for him and regardless if he goes or stays we get some players in to move us on and become less reliant on one individual.Maybe just maybe if D Levy had spent some money in january and Spurs had got the two targets AVB was after we would have champions league to look forward to therefore be less prone to madrid's tactics.Gareth has plenty of time to make his fortune in the future.

  • After a good win at Stoke and Wigan on a high after the FA cup win i was feeling quite comfortable with our situation that was until i heard Pardew on the radio this morning saying now that Newcastle are safe he could not care less if they lose 4 nil to Arsenal on the final day he then said obviously the Spurs fans would not want to hear that.Whilst his concern is obviously Newcastle i would have thought he would keep such views to himself as a professional.I hope this does not mean the Geordies will roll over and gift the gooners 3 points on the last day with the managers blessing.Anyway not long to go now and keeping my fingers crossed. Im with you Joe i think AVB is a good coach doing a very good job, would i swop him for Harry? not on your nelly.
I see our main stumbling block being Levy not willing or able to push on to the next level he is trying to play with the big boys on a shoestring. If we had got a class striker in Jan as AVB wanted i think top four would have been a cert now im very uneasy.
I was excited by AVB's appointment now let's hope that isnt dashed by Spurs not doing the blindingly obvious as usual. COYS

  • If it is correct what I heard prior to the kick off against Leeds that Defoe was given the weekend off. Then the Spurs management need to be held accountable. We need 75 chances to score at the best of times let alone giving our top striker time off, without an adequate replacement. This shows a severe lack of depth in our striker department. Obviously we need someone in pronto. Could someone pass this on to Mr. Levy.

WE obviously need a top quality striker i think if RVP played for us we would have won that game.
Against teams that park the bus i think we need a plan b as we seem very easy to negate in our usual way of playing, perhaps we could get the ball in the box quicker at times mixing it up more and changing the dynamics of our play therefore making us less predictable. Then of course we would still need a top quality striker to put the hopefully increased chances away.No option Mr Levy you will have to break open the piggy bank preferably this transfer window.COYS

  • Why all the criticism of AVB? I seem
to remember Harry's tactical nous coming under fire on many occasions and he had 4 years in the job not 4 months.
As for comparing AVB's time at chelsea,to now, I don't. There, he was obviously given a remit which put a few noses out of joint, and the natives rebelled.
The side yesterday and for some while has been badly depleted by injuries. So hopefully when all the players are available we will see a big improvement. some starters lately wouldn't get anywhere near the side if they were all fit.
No yesterday wasn't good bvut teams like Wigan are capable of shock wins.
Changes I would make though are Dawson for Gallas and Lloris for Friedel, and if Ade is fit I would give Defoe a rest as seems to have gone off the boil and Ade is a better team player.
    Anyway, onwards and upwards. COYS.

I turned the tv off midway through the second half fearing for my sanity and safety of our tv that i was close to throwing something at.
That was garbage but seemed a fairly typical
spurs performance in as much as we struggle to score against team's that sit back against us, good or bad with the odd exception. Im not knocking AVB necessairly as this has been happening a long time but it certainly is frustrating.Hopefully when we get back all our
injured players we will look far more cohesive and be more effective. We shall see.

I dont blame BALE he probably forgot himself and thought we were playing liverpool.
Im with JL here i detest shirt pulling and diving and think penalty's and bans are the way to go it would soon stop then.
Talking of pens how come we get 3 a season and chelski get about 8000.I wonder.

excellently put both of you amen to that.

  • Isee spurs have signed a partnership
deal with REAL MADRID, I wonder whose idea that was.
I may be cynical and hope im wrong but i see this benefiting RM more than SPURS. LUKA this year BALE and or WALKER the next?.I dread the thought of SPURS being a feeder club for REAL, but if there is money to be made im sure LEVY will be all for it.

Have you considered this may not be a AVB decision ref DAWSON.IN my mind this is simply
financially driven,if qpr had offered 9 mill
for GALLAS we all know what would have happened.I love DAWSON to bits but we did well
last season without him, and to be honest the
qpr offer is a good one.Lets give AVB a chance
    and get behind him. COYS

Obviously you along with the other sceptics/critics could not have heard the
statement i did on talksport issued by THFC.
This explained the G BALE situation and was very critical of the bad press/tv coverage that SPURS have had.

Alan Brazil, on Talk Sport, said on Friday, that a Spurs insider knew something that would
"blow his socks off", but could not tell him.
So maybe it is not AVB?

    England performance

I stand corrected, calling Roy a moron was a
    bit ott.
I don't accept though as an excuse, he has
only had the job a short time.
He knows the players and the systems they play. Therefore why did he ask them to do something completely different.
His coaching made the players look worse than they are, I would sooner have lost 2 -0 to
    Italy playing proper football.
Still look on the bright side if we played Germany we would probably have been humiliated.

Some great posts on here and I agree with you
all, anyway here is my two bobs worth.
I think our players are better than that but their skills were severly docked by Roys
    medieval tactics.
No, we are not as skillful as Spain, but even if we had L.MESSI up front, we would'nt stand
a cat in hells chance oif winning the euros, playing 8-1-1.
Maybe if we had played proper football are players would have acquitted themselves a bit better, and not made us a laughing stock.
I actually felt sorry for some of the players.
Can you imagine having to obey the instructions of a conmplete moron.
I am struggling to think of a worse appointment the F.A. could have made, he has taken us back years.
    Phew! rant over. COYS.
