Infielder Luis Urías was placed on the 10-day injured list by the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday because of a strained left hamstring, and the team selected the contract of outfielder Joey Wiemer from Triple-A Nashville. “It's a solid hamstring strain, six to eight weeks, probably closer to eight, so it is significant,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell said before Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Urías was injured in Thursday's opener, when he went 0 for 4.
Right after it was over, Dansby Swanson soaked in one more moment in a very special debut with the Chicago Cubs. “Hearing ‘Go Cubs Go’ is a lot better when you're on the team," the All-Star shortstop said. Swanson had three hits and Marcus Stroman worked six scoreless innings, breezing past baseball's first pitch-clock violation on his way to a 4-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday on opening day.
