    Martin wins German MotoGP sprint race to stem Bagnia run

    Series leader Jorge Martin won the German MotoGP sprint race on Saturday to extend his lead in the championship and end a run of five successive victories by main rival Francesco Bagnaia.Portugal's Miguel Oliveira finished second and Bagnaia -- who had won the previous two sprints and three MotoGPs -- third.

    Martin sets lap record to secure German MotoGP pole

    Spain's series leader Jorge Martin secured pole for both the German MotoGP sprint later on Saturday and the race proper which he hopes will be the launchpad for him to ease the pressure being put on him by Francesco Bagnaia.Marquez would have eyed the race as one where he could make ground on Martin and Bagnaia as he has flourished on the Sachsenring track, winning a record eight German MotoGPs.  hdy/pi/ea

    Vinales sets German MotoGP lap record as Marquez goes flying

    Spaniard Maverick Vinales broke the Sachsenring track record in Friday's practice session ahead of the German MotoGP, while Marc Marquez suffered a heavy fall.The Spaniard was examined at the track medical centre and doctors found he had a broken left index finger and a "large bruise to the ribcage", but declared him "fit" to continue racing on a track where he is chasing a record ninth victory.
