    Martin extends MotoGP lead as Bastianini wins at Misano and Bagnaia crashes out

    Jorge Martin took advantage of Francesco Bagnaia crashing out of the Emilia-Romagna MotoGP to extend his championship lead despite being pipped to Sunday's race win by Enea Bastianini on the final lap.But his crash left Martin to continue uninterrupted his thrilling battle with Bastianini, who drew roars from the crowd when he took the lead with seconds remaining in the race.

    Bagnaia cuts Martin's MotoGP lead with Emilia-Romagna sprint win

    Francesco Bagnaia won an exciting sprint race at the Emilia-Romagna MotoGP on Saturday to cut championship rival Jorge Martin's lead at the top of the riders' standings.He was 23 points behind Martin after crashing out of the Aragon MotoGP but if he wins Sunday's GP he will take the championship lead.

    Bagnaia eyeing summit on home ground in 100th MotoGP

    Francesco Bagnaia will be gunning for MotoGP championship leader Jorge Martin in the Italian's 100th Grand Prix appearance, at his home Misano Adriatico circuit this weekend.Martin is looking over his shoulder at not just Bagnaia but also a revitalised Marquez and Enea Bastianini as the season heads towards its home straight.

    Marc Marquez revelled in the rain which helped him win Sunday's San Marino MotoGP as weather confusion allowed Francesco Bagnaia to slash the Jorge Martin's championship lead."As soon as it started to rain I saw Jorge enter the pit, I said 'I don't need to take any risk, he will not take any points'," said Ducati rider Bagnaia who recovered from his initial disappointment of being outclassed on his home track by Marquez.Â
