  • This is NC State's first Final Four since winning the 1983 national championship under Jim Valvano. The Cardiac Pack is back, this time as a No. 11 seed. Next up: A showdown against Purdue featuring DJ Burns vs. Zach Edey in the post.

Burns finished today's game with 29 points, four rebounds and three assists. He shot 13 of 19 from the field. He's the face of one of the more remarkable runs in NCAA tournament history.

  • What a win. What a run. NC State beats Duke for the second time in a run of 9 consecutive elimination games. Now it's headed to the Final Four with a 76-64 win in the Elite Eight.

  • State beats the press again. Another and-1 layup for DJ Burns. State leads 71-58 with 55.6 seconds remaining.

  • State's rotating Burns out of the lineup on defense when it can down the stretch. And rightfully looking to him on offense.

  • Now NC State beats the press for an and-1 layup from DJ Burns. 65-52, NC State with 1:47 remaining.

  • Duke is pressing with a full-court trap. NC State's handling it well. Layups on back-to-back possessions for a 62-5- lead. 2:18 remaining.

  • NC State's on a 37-19 run in a dominant second half.

  • DJ Burns, meanwhile, remains unstoppable. NC State leads, 58-44 at the last media timeout after a Burns drop-step and floater from the baseline.

  • Duke's trouble deepens. Kyle Filipowksi just fouled out throwing Michael O'Connell to the floor. NC State leads 56-44 with 4:52 remaining.

  • Duke's struggles from 3 (2 for 14) are playing a big role in its deficit right now. NC State's up 54-44 with 5:16 remaining.

  • Guarding DJ Burns one-on-one is a shaky proposition.

  • The technical did not matter. NC State now leads 51-42 after a 3-pointer by Michael McConnell. Duke's Mark Mitchell committed a foul while the shot was in the air too

  • NC State coach Kevin Keatts has been called for a technical after officials said the ball went out of bounds off NC State when it last touched Kyle Filipowski.

  • NC State is on fire.

Duke has called its third timeout with 8:19 to go. The Wolfpack are up 48-40.

Can NC State seriously win a ninth elimination game in a row and become the sixth No. 11 seed to advance to the Final Four?

  • Kyle Filipowski has just picked up his fourth foul with 9:49 to go.

  • Make it 10 straight points for the DJs. NC State leads 42-38 at the under-12 timeout with 10:42 to go.

  • Duke calls timeout with 11:39 to go. NC State has a 40-38 lead. DJ Horne and DJ Burns have scored the Wolfpack's last eight points.

  • And on the very next possession, Kyle Filipowski draws Mohamed Diarra's fourth foul and gets the lead right back for Duke.

    This is getting fun.

  • Two free throws from DJ Horne have given NC State a 36-35 lead with 12:59 to go.

  • NC State has cut Duke's lead to 33-29 with 15:11 to go in the game. The Wolfpack have made a few baskets at the rim this half after struggling mightily to get anything to go down in the first half.

  • Duke leads NC State 27-21 at halftime. The Wolfpack are shooting just 27% from the field and Duke is at 31%. The two teams are a combined 17 of 60 from the field. Ugh.

Each team has two key players with two fouls. NC State's Mohamed Diarra and DJ Burns and Duke's Kyle Filipowski and Tyrese Proctor.

  • NC State cannot buy a basket at the moment. The Wolfpack have made just one of their last nine attempts as there are 90 seconds to go in the first half.

  • Mohamed Diarra just picked up his second foul for NC State. He's coming out of the game as DJ Burns is back in with two fouls of his own.

  • NC State calls timeout with 7:07 to go as Duke takes a 21-14 lead. Jared McCain has 11 of the Blue Devils' 21 points and Duke is playing some great defense too.

  • DJ Burns has missed back-to-back shots at the basket and then picked up a cheap foul after the second miss. That's his second foul. There's 9:47 to go in the first half.

  • Duke has three turnovers through the first 8:10 of the game but leads NC State 12-9 with 11:50 to go in the first half.

DJ Burns is 3 of 4 for NC State. The rest of the team is 1 of 8.

  • DJ Burns has six of NC State's first eight points. The Wolfpack lead Duke 8-7 with 13:25 to go in the first half at the first TV timeout of the game.

  • Final: NC State 76, Texas 66

The Wolfpack are moving on to the Final Four for the first time since 1998. They'll face South Carolina on Friday. NC State's Aziaha James led the way with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

  • It's not happening for Texas tonight. They're going to play the foul game down the stretch here, but it's far enough out of reach that NC State doesn't have to worry.

  • It's still an 8-point margin (72-64) with 1:32 left. The Longhorns need a stop badly.

  • It's time to see which ACC team will join Purdue, UConn and Alabama in the Final Four. Will it be Duke or NC State?

  • Aziaha James might've just stuck a dagger in Texas. It's her seventh 3-pointer and the Longhorns are up 11 with just over 3 minutes left.

  • The Longhorns are still in it, but they're running short on time. The deficit is 8 and there's a little over 5 minutes left on the clock. Madison Booker has 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists, but Texas will need her to carry them over the finish line here.

  • End of 3Q: NC State 57, Texas 48

The Longhorns have cut into the lead, but it's still a nine-point game heading into the final quarter.

  • Final: Purdue 72, Tennessee 66

Zach Edey finishes with a career-high 40 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. He went to the free throw line 22 times and made 14 of them.

It's the third Final Four trip for the Boilermakers and the team's first since 1980.

  • It's final. Purdue 72, Tennessee 66.

Purdue is heading to the Final Four the year after the Boilermakers lost in the first round

  • Zach Edey's block of Dalton Knecht with less than a minute to go might have just sealed it for Purdue.

  • The Wolfpack still have a comfortable double-digit lead as the game hits the halfway point in the third quarter. Aziaha James has cooled off but NC State has maintained its lead so far.

  • Tennessee takes a timeout with 1:28 to go after a bucket by Zakai Ziegler. Purdue leads 68-62. Zach Edey has 38 points.

  • Purdue may be pulling away from Tennessee here. As Tennessee is doubling Zach Edey, the Boilermakers are getting open 3-pointers. Lance Jones hit one with over 2 minutes to go to give Purdue a six-point lead.

  • Purdue leads 59-58 with 3:58 to go. Zach Edey will be going to the free throw line after the under-4 timeout.

Tennessee has now committed 20 fouls. The Vols averaged 17.3 fouls per game entering the Elite Eight.

Purdue's opponents have averaged 20 fouls per game.

  • Tennessee's Tobe Awaka fouls out with 4:43 to go and the game tied 58-58. The Vols foul a lot. And they've fouled Zach Edey a lot today.

  • JP Estrella ties things up at 58.

  • HALFTIME: NC State 43, Texas 31

NC State's Aziaha James has been on fire. She has 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting and is 5-for-5 from beyond the arc. Texas has not been playing well, and they haven't been able to stop James. But despite all that, they down only 12 points to NC State at the half.

  • And now Knecht has tied it with a 3 and his 31st point of the game. 56-56 all.

  • Dalton Knecht is almost single-handedly keeping Tennessee in this game. Has 28 of Purdue's 53 points. Just capped a 7-0 run with another transition bucket:

  • Halftime: NC State 43, Texas 31

The Wolfpack is off to a blistering start thanks to Aziaha James, who's 5-for-5 from behind the arc while adding up 21 points and 5 rebounds in the first two quarters.

  • The Vols have fouled Zach Edey 10 times. They have no answer for him. 7-0 run has Purdue up 54-46.

  • Zach Edey and Dalton Knecht continue to dominate. Edey's up to 27 points and 16 rebounds. Knecht has 24, is 5 of 8 from 3. Advantage, Purdue: 54-46.
