Erivo wore an emerald-green leather Louis Vuitton dress in a nod to Elphaba, and Grande's pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown appeared to reference her role as Glinda.

Part one of the "Wicked" movie will be released in November 2024, followed by part two in 2025.

Danielle Brooks wore the number 26 on her nails as the 26th Black woman to be nominated for best supporting actress.

"Whether I go home with an award or not, I will forever be the 26th Black woman to be nominated for best supporting actress," Brooks told E! of her manicure.

Brooks was nominated alongside another Black actress, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, who ended up winning the award for "The Holdovers."

Several stars made a statement with red pins calling for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war.

The pins, which also appeared on the Grammys red carpet in February, are affiliated with the group Artists4Ceasefire, which published an open letter signed by over 400 celebrities calling on President Joe Biden to broker a cease-fire in the Middle East.

Mark Ruffalo, Billie Eilish, Ava Duvernay, Ramy Youssef, and producer Nadim Cheikhrouha were among the celebrities sporting the pin on the Oscars red carpet.

Marlee Matlin chose a purple dress that referenced the outfit she wore for her 1987 Oscars win.

In 1987, Matlin made history when she won best actress for her role in "Children of a Lesser God," becoming the first deaf actor to win an Academy Award.

Similarly, Lupita Nyong'o's icy-blue dress was a nod to the gown she wore when she won an Oscar a decade ago.

Nyong'o's Armani Privè gown was inspired by the pale-blue Prada dress she wore to accept the best supporting actress Oscar in 2014 for her role in "12 Years a Slave."

The Prada gown is considered one of the greatest Oscars looks of all time.

On Sunday, her stylist, Micaela Erlanger, shared an Instagram photo of Nyong'o in the Prada dress.

"10 years ago," Erlanger wrote alongside the image. "This woman, this dress, and this moment completely changed the course of my career. I knew from the start that our dress was very special in its simplicity, in its elegance, with the soft blue color and delicate beading. But I couldn't even dream of that it would have the impact it did. What a privilege and honor it was then and continues to be now!"

Dunst, who wore a fitted white Gucci gown, was looking over her shoulder while walking the red carpet and didn't notice the giant Oscars trophy in front of her. After gently bumping into the statuette, she laughed and grabbed her husband, Jesse Plemons, by the shoulders.

Julianne Hough's outfit appeared to be a regular gown, but turned out to be a jumpsuit.

"Julianne loves taking a fashion risk and loves to be different," Mazur said.
