2017 NHL Draft lottery: Here are your crappy team's odds

The Avalanche, with the league's worst record, get an 18 percent chance of winning the No. 1 pick. Expansion Vegas gets a 10.3 percent shot.

The 2017 NHL Draft lottery to determine the order of selection for the first 15 picks in thefirst round of June's draftwill beApril 29 in Toronto, the league announced Tuesday.

The expansion Vegas Golden Knights — who begin play next season —are among the participants in the lottery but won't have the best odds to land the No. 1 overallpick. That "honor" goes to the Colorado Avalanche,the NHL's worst regular-season team this season withonly 48 points.

Other participants in the lottery are teams that missed this season's playoffs.

The lottery will consist of three drawings to determine who'll pick first, second and third overall. The remaining teams will be slotted in order of their records, from worst to best.

The Golden Knights are assigned the same lottery odds as the 2016-17's 28th-place team, the Coyotes (70 points). Vegas isguaranteed no lower than the sixth overall selection.

The lottery resultswill be announced shortly after 8 p.m. ET, during live coverage of the event.

The seven-round 2017 NHL Draft is June 23-24at the United Center in Chicago.
