Chelsea will compete in their second Club World Cup early next year after winning the 2020/21 Champions League.

The Blues have only made the finals once previously but failed to lift the trophy after losing 1-0 to Corinthians in Japan.

Since then, a European team has won the competition every year with Bayern Munich defeating Mexico’s Tigres in last year’s final, which was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 2021 competition has also been pushed back and changed venue, from Japan to the UAE, amid the pandemic. But Chelsea will have high hopes of lifting the crown once and for all with their route to glory soon to be mapped out.

When is the Club World Cup draw?

The draw for the Club World Cup will take place on Monday, 29 November, 2021 at 4pm GMT in Zurich, Switzerland.

How can I watch the Club World Cup draw?

The Club World Cup draw will be streamed live on FIFA.com.

Chelsea legend John Terry will conduct the draw alongside FIFA Director of Tournaments Jaime Yarza and host Samantha Johnson.

Who can Chelsea face in the Club World Cup?

Chelsea will enter the competition at the semi-final stage and will be placed in the opposite side of the draw to the winner of South America’s Copa Libertadores.

Al Jazira, as the UAE champions and host club, will kick off the tournament against Oceania’s Auckland City in the first round.

African champions Al Ahly, Asian champions Al Hilal and North American champions Monterrey join the winner of that game for the second round. The two winners of those matches will face either Chelsea or the South American champions in the semi-finals.

The Copa Libertadores will be won by either Flamengo or Palmeiras, both of Brazil, in the final on Saturday, November 27.

When are the Club World Cup games?

The tournament is set to take place in early 2022 after original host nation, Japan, pulled out due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The schedule of matches will be announced after the draw.
