49ers release CB Tramaine Brock after arrest on suspicion of domestic violence

San Francisco cut Brock in April after he was arrested on a domestic violence charge that ended up being dropped last week.

The 49ers released starting cornerback Tramaine Brock on Friday, less than 24 hours after he was arrested and charged with felony domestic violence.

According to a news release from Santa Clara police, officers responded to a report of a domestic violence incident around 9:35 PT Thursday. They found a woman with "visible injuries" and determined she was in a dating relationship with the male suspect, Brock.

The 28-year-old Brock has started at corner for the 49ers the last two seasons, making a total of four interceptions.

Nonetheless, the 49ers quickly made the move to cut ties with him Friday, just as they have done in similar cases the last few years — most notably with defensive end Ray McDonald in December 2014.
