Celtic spent a fortune in the summer transfer market as Brendan Rodgers eventually landed the players he wanted.

But Hoops chiefs have also been forking out on significant improvements to the stadium's infrastructure and beyond. It was revealed last year that the Scottish champions had invested in a state-of-the-art redevelopment of the club's Barrowfield Training Centre, in the heart of the East End of Glasgow.

The multi-million-pound complex - which is due to be completed by November 2024 - will be the new dedicated training centre for Celtic FC Women’s First Team and will also host Celtic’s boys' and girls' Academies. The Double-winners' Lennoxtown training HQ has also been undergoing some changes including refurbished changing areas and the introduction of a new medical/treatment centre.

Earlier this year, Celtic also commissioned a worldwide fan survey which sought input from supporters on a variety of issues ranging from catering to the possibility of a new standing section. And the Glasgow giants have got the ball rolling over the summer to transform their iconic ground into a more modern arena, befitting of the club's European status.

Players will now walk out from a green-lit tunnel, passing a famous quote by the legendary Jock Stein before being met with vibrant new signage as they make their way onto the hallowed turf.

While the Green Brigade make all the noise in the North Curve standing section, the prawn sandwich brigade's bums will be kept warm with comfy new executive seats installed over the summer. The director's box in the main stand which gives the best views of the stadium has brand new black leather chairs for the club's hierarchy and VIP guests to enjoy.

Celtic transformed part of its surroundings to accommodate the return of Rangers fans following an Old Firm away lock-out. In February, the Hoops applied to Glasgow City Council for planning permission for various alterations which included the installation of security gates and fencing as well as new access steps. These works have now been completed.
