The track and field events at the 2024 Paris Olympics have lived up to the hype. That was the case on Saturday evening as the women's 100m hurdles came down to a photo finish, much like the men's 100m race earlier in the week. After a brief review, it was clear U.S. hurdler Masai Russell was the winner by one one-hundredth of a second.
Russell's lunge at the finish line gave her a time of 12.33, just ahead of France's Cyrena Samba-Mayela 12.34. It was an utterly dramatic conclusion to a tense race, and Russell was understandably elated.
Here are some incredible photos that show just how close it was.

They evaluate the job head coach Matt Rhule has done rebuilding the program, and project if they have a shot finish at the top of the Big Ten in 2024.
