This is the hilarious moment a non-league footballer was caught downing a fan’s PINT while celebrating a goal for his team.

Corby Town FC’s Jason Lee got slightly carried away when striker Ben Milnes netted the only goal in a 1-0 victory.

The defender was captured on camera grabbing a supporter’s drink and having a gulp as his team-mates celebrated with supporters on the sidelines.

The pictures have since gone viral following the Steelmen’s win against Mickleover Sports which took them out of the Northern Premier League relegation zone.

Jason, who works as a building contractor, said he sank the beer because he “didn’t want it going to waste.”

He told the BBC: “After the goal was scored we all went off to celebrate with Ben, but a fan had spilled his pint, and another fan had thrown his pint up in the air.

“Everyone was celebrating, everyone was drenched, but I didn’t want the spilled pint to go to waste so I just thought I’d have a cheeky sip.

“I got busted, caught out by the photographer. Everyone within the five-metre radius thought it was funny.

“I thought I was just going to get a kick out of making those guys laugh, and now it’s gone viral.”

However, Jason said the contents of the drink took him by surprise as he was hoping for a nice cold beer.

He added: “I thought it was going to be a lager, took a big swig, to find out it was a cider.

“I thought ‘I can’t stop here’ so carried on.

“But with about 10 or 15 minutes to go I got severe heartburn.

“Although it tasted nice and refreshing at the time, I just wouldn’t recommend it for elite athletes.”

The picture has been shared thousands of times on social media, with many branding it the best goal celebration of the season.

Jason added: “Hopefully for the rest of the season I hope I don’t score another goal because I don’t know how I could top that as a celebration.”

After a fan tweeted Lee asking whether it was lager, he replied by saying: “strongbow, caused severe heartburn with 15 to go.”

Another Twitter user Carl Graham added: “I think that’s the best goal celebration of the season, if not all time.”

Carl Richards added: “How British a goal celebration is that? The greatest celebration I’ve ever seen in English football.”

Jack Bennett wrote: “Brilliant what you see in Non-League.”

Joshua Gordon added: “Looks like he was eager to get the party stared early half way through the second half. Fair play to the lad.”
