Nigeria international, Shehu Abdullahi has thrown his weight behind Rivers United to make it out of their Caf Confederation Cup group stage.

The Pride of Rivers are in Group A alongside FUS Rabat (Morocco), Club Africain (Tunisia), and KCAA (Uganda) and the left full back the Nigeria Professional Football League outfit will succeed in the tournament.

He also urged Nigerians to support the only NPFL outfit on the continent to ensure they give their best against the continent’s best sides.

“I strongly believe Rivers United will represent Nigeria well. Wishing them a successful tournament. We need to give them support.” Abdullahi tweeted.

Rivers United are the country’s only surviving team on the continent after beating Rayon Sports 2-0 in the qualifying stage of the tournament in April, meanwhile,  they have moved just one spot above the relegation zone on the Nigerian topflight table with 21 points from 16 league games.
