Abia Warriors' Obarakpo pleased with NPFL officiating

The Owena Whales suffered a narrow defeat to the Olukoya Boys, but their gaffer was not impressed with the arbiter's performance

Abia Warriors' Austin Obarakpo has praised the League Management Company for their effort to improve the Nigerian league.

The Super Eagles defender is satisfied with the level of officiating in the first round of the 2016/17 season.

"So far so good I think this 2016/17 season has been interesting. Officiating has improved compared to previous season because that's an important aspect of the game," Obarakpo told Goal.

"I want to commend the League Management Company for the positive impact and I want encourage them to continue at that level.

On his absence from action, the defender said: "As regards my injury, I am fit and I've been training, I promise my fans they will see more of me in the second round."
