Nationals outfielder Adam Eaton was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday after being carried off the field the night before with a leg injury.
Eaton beat out a ball in the ninth inning for an infield single in a loss to the Mets, but he immediately went down in a heap clutching his leg. He was unable to walk off the field under his own power.
He was diagnosed with a left knee strain Saturday and the club called up speedy outfielder Rafael Bautista from Triple-A Syracuse.
Eaton, who was acquired by the Nationals from the White Sox during the offseason for two of their best pitching prospects, is hitting .297 with two home runs, three stolen bases and 24 runs scored so far this season.
