Adam Idah closing in on Celtic transfer as £7million Norwich City deal worked on over weekend
Adam Idah's proposed move to Celtic is inching closer after a weekend of talks.
Football Scotland understands both clubs were involved in discussions across the weekend as the Hoops look to thrash out a deal to bring their former loanee to Parkhead on a permanent basis. Sources indicate that any deal is likely to pass the £7million mark before Norwich City agree to conditions for the 23-year-old who they still see as a player who could have a future at Carrow Road. But there has been confirmation that no agreement has yet been struck.
Idah came off the bench for the club on Saturday afternoon in their defeat to Oxford United and that left some supporters feeling a tad nervy about the move.
But it's believed that while Johannes Hoff Thorup remains a fan, Celts are confident of confirming the striker before the end of the summer transfer window.
We at Football Scotland exclusively told you back in early July how an initial bid had been knocked back by the Canaries who were not interested in selling at that time.
Idah was punished internally for missing a flight to their pre-season training camp in Austria and had been nursing a slight knock.
