Adam Idah pens classy Norwich City farewell as Celtic finally land their man

Adam Idah has penned a classy farewell message to Norwich City after completing his long-awaited return to Celtic.

Celts finally wrapped up the signing of the Republic of Ireland international in a record-breaking deal that could eventually rise to £9.5million. The Hoops have been chasing the 23-year-old's signature all summer after an explosive six month loan spell last season, where Idah became a cult hero by netting a dramatic late winner against Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final.

Idah made it clear to the Canaries that he wanted to rejoin his boyhood club but new boss Johannes Hoff Thorup was reluctant to lose the powerhouse frontman. Idah was jeered by the Carrow Road crowd during a friendly after turning up late for a pre-season trip to Austria and missing his flight.

But the Norwich academy graduate redeemed himself in the eyes of fans by coming off the bench in last week's Championship opening day defeat against Oxford United - unlike Marseille and Leeds target Jonathan Row who refused to play.

Now, Idah has scribed a post on Instagram thanking the Canaries for his five years at the club after officially being unveiled by Celtic.

He wrote: "Thank you, @norwichcityfc ! I joined the club as a boy & am leaving as a man. Thank you to all the staff in both the academy & first team for all your support & guidance. I’ve played with some amazing people & made friends for life. All the best for the future, Canaries."
