Adrian Peterson took to Twitter late Friday night apparently to deny an ESPN report that said he remains a free agent team because of the steep price tag he’s put himself.

“You can’t believe everything you read or hear people,” Peterson wrote. “The last thing I’m worried about is playing ball this coming season. That will happen! It’s not all about the money as everyone is speculating here lately.”

ESPN reported earlier this week that Peterson “might have priced himself out of signing with a team early in free agency. One source from a team in the market for a running back believes Peterson wanted more than $8 million in the first year of a contract.”

But Peterson insisted in his Twitter post, “Finding the best fit & helping a team in a major way win a championship is my main objective! I'm in no rush.”
