Qatar travel to Tashkent to play Uzbekistan at the Bunyodkor Stadium on Matchday Seven in a Group A encounter ofthe FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 qualifying campaign on Tuesday.
The hosts will target a positive response to the 1-0 defeat to Syria last Thursday.
A win would have lifted the Central Asians into second place in Group A but Omar Khrbin’s injury-time penalty now leaves Uzbekistan, who will be without the suspended Islom Tukhtakhujaev, with a major fight to secure a top-three position as Syria lurk just a point behind in fourth.
Qatar, meanwhile, are rock bottom in the group but would move to within two points of their opponents should they claim an unlikely win in Tashkent.
The away side will be hoping to put a narrow 1-0 defeat at home against Iran last week behind them.
Boualem Khoukhi and Abdelkarim Hassan are both suspended, while defender Ahmed Yasser and forward Meshaal Abdulla are available for selection after serving their bans.
The two sides last met earlier in the group on September 6, 2016 in Qatar with Uzbekistan coming away with a 1-0 victory.
Kick off is scheduled for 1700 GST on Tuesday at theBunyodkor Stadium in Uzbekistan.
