Ainsworth commits to Wycombe

Gareth Ainsworth has put pen to paper on a one-year player/coach deal at Wycombe.

The veteran winger was offered the role by Blues boss Gary Waddock earlier this month and has now accepted the position for next season.

Ainsworth, who joined Wanderers in February 2010, found playing time hard to come by over the second half of last season but often worked alongside Waddock and assistant Richard Dobson.

The 39-year-old previously held a player/coach role at QPR in 2008 before twice taking the reins at Loftus Road on a caretaker basis.

Ainsworth currently holds his UEFA B coaching licence and is working towards his A license.
