Akwa United will resume from their mid-season break they embarked upon after the end of the league’s first round on Tuesday.
The Promise keepers ended the first stanza with a 2-0 home win over MFM at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo after Alhassan Ibrahim and Friday Ubong goals sealed an important win which ensured they retain their fifth position with 29 points from 19 matches.
And midfielder Michael Ibe has disclosed that his colleague have been told to report in Uyo on Tuesday for the start of preparation for the second round.
“We proceeded on few days break after our victory over MFM and we are reporting back to camp on Tuesday to start preparation for the commencement of the second round. we have been refreshed by the break and we are hoping to return for the second round in better shape than we had in the first round,” Ibe told Goal.
Akwa United will open their second round account in Lagos with a date with MFM in the reverse fixture of the last tie of the first round which they won 2-0 in Uyo.
