Alan Shearer asks key Nottingham Forest question and admits Ipswich Town admiration
Alan Shearer has had his say on Nottingham Forest’s City Ground clash with Ipswich Town - and delivered his verdict on who will claim the three points on Saturday (3pm).
The Premier League’s record goal-scorer and current Match of the Day pundit admits to being impressed by Kieran McKenna’s side, who are fighting to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.
They remain inside the top-flight relegation zone, albeit on goal difference, but have run several established top-flight teams close this season - none more so than Manchester United last Sunday, when they hit back to draw 1-1 with Ruben Amorim’s side.

Forest, meanwhile, sit seventh after a storming start to the season, but have now lost consecutive games against Newcastle and Arsenal.
Asked for his view of the clash, Shearer told Betfair: “I was really impressed with Ipswich against Man United. I thought they were really unlucky not to win the game.
“Has the bubble burst at Nottingham Forest? It’s a tough one to call, but I’ll probably go for Forest to win as they’re at home.”
McKenna acknowledges that it is a difficult encounter for his side, but remains confident.
He said: “Our last two games have generally been positive results. I think the couple of games before that have been very positive performances where we should have had more points, so we feel like we are in pretty good form.
“You look at the performances in both games there were a lot of positives, but it’s up to us to continue that. It’s about a tough game against Nottingham Forest and getting ready for that.”
