Brighton legend Bobby Zamora says the club should target Europe

Albion legend Bobby Zamora says his old club can target European football.

And he would love to help them get there – by coaching the strikers.

Zamora watched the Seagulls beat West Ham 3-1 on Sunday to secure ninth place in the Premier League.

He told TalkSPORT: “They are run so well, genuinely.

“It’s not going ‘throw some money, go mad, try and buy some players, smash the wage bill and try and reach the heights tomorrow’.

“It’s ‘we have a plan’ and they are sticking to it. They are not getting carried away.

“Their aim next year has got to be Europe.

“There is not a year when they have gone backwards in the last five, ten years, really.

“As a club and where they are aiming to be, there has been a progression every year.

BRIGHTON STARS URGED TO TAKE IT EASY

“So hats off to Tony (Bloom) and the board and everybody that’s there.

“Graham (Potter) has been absolutely phenomenal.”

Zamora revealed an ambition to offer specialist coaching to strikers and said he had spoken about it with Albion head coach Potter.

He said management was not for him, adding: “I couldn’t deal with the owners, the press, the players, the agents.

“For me it would be just working with strikers.”
