Chelsea have reportedly made enquiries about signing Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United.

The 20-year-old has endured a difficult start to life under Ruben Amorim, and United are willing to listen to offers for every player, including academy graduates. Garnacho, who has three-and-a-half years left on his contract, has been subject to transfer interest from Napoli.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News on Friday morning Napoli are unlikely to meet United's valuation of Alejandro Garnacho and are exploring other targets. The Italian club have had an offer of around £40million rejected for Garnacho, whose valuation was estimated at €97.4m (£82.27m) by the CIES Football Observatory last week.

The MEN also understands that Garnacho is not actively pursuing a move away from United despite mounting uncertainty over his future. But The Athletic is now reporting that Chelsea have entered the race to sign the forward.

It's claimed that the Blues have made checks on the former Atletico Madrid man as they consider options to strengthen their attacking department in the January window. Conversations, however, remain at an early stage.

Garnacho is not the only winger Chelsea are reporting looking at. Jamie Gittens, who has scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 25 matches for Borussia Dortmund this season, is on the Blues' radar. Gittens, 20, a Reading-born former Manchester City youngster, has been excellent in the Bundesliga and Champions League.

Gittens and Garnacho are multiple candidates for Chelsea, who are keen to strengthen out wide. Enzo Maresca's side have called upon Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke to fill those roles in the Premier League this season - but Garnacho, in particular - could be an upgrade.
