Alexander Isak to Arsenal transfer latest with fresh exit update as Mikel Arteta meeting set
Newcastle striker Alexander Isak continues to be strongly linked with a transfer to Arsenal. Over the last few trading periods, Mikel Arteta and former sporting director Edu have attempted to sign an elite-level striker but have fallen short, with that issue coming to the forefront as of late.
The Gunners have scored just seven goals from their last six games in all competitions with the bulk of those coming in the Carabao Cup victory over Championship side Preston. With that in mind, rumours surrounding the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Isak have ramped up significantly.
Following the departure of Ruben Amorim, talk regarding an exit for Gyokeres has followed with Manchester United now firmly in the race for his signature. Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked to the former Coventry City man with it now possible he leaves in a cut-price deal next summer.

As for Isak, his future at Newcastle looked to become uncertain following reports that his entourage were shocked over the Magpies' stance regarding a possible contract extension. However, the man himself quickly clarified that no issues were present.
“I am commenting on my situation in Newcastle, and I have never had any problem there," he said as quoted by Fotbol Skanalen. "I am fully focused on my task there and that we will have a fantastic season. There are still great opportunities for that. I have no thoughts about anything else.”
On claims that his representatives are frustrated with Newcastle, he added: “The only thing I can say is that a lot of information and rumours often come out. Much of what I read is not true. So that’s about all I can say about the whole thing.”
Despite the fact Isak has dismissed those claims, an exit as early as next summer could still be on the cards with the 25-year-old expected to be one of many things discussed at the meeting set to take place over the international break. A number of club chiefs are set to travel to the United States in order to meet with the Kroenke family.
