Alexander Isak 'overwhelmed' by Newcastle United moment as special message sent
Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has paid a heartfelt tribute to the club's supporters after experiencing what he has described as a "moment I will never forget." The Sweden international took time to address supporters on social media after a special Wor Flags tribute to the player ahead of Monday night's game against West Ham United at St James' Park.
The 2-0 defeat to the Hammers was enough to suck away much of the enthusiasm that had been built heading into the international break, with a loss denying the Mags the chance to move within two points of second-placed Manchester City in the Premier League table.
Isak has acknowledged the disappointing result while paying tribute to Newcastle fans for their show of support to him since his arrival at the club, encapsulated by the St James' Park tribute. Worflags arranged for the Leazes end of St James' to be decorated in blue and yellow flags in the colours of Sweden, with Isak's name spelt out.

Meanwhile the Gallowgate featured a banner which read, "Alexander the Great" with a picture of the hugely popular striker.
Isak wrote; "Very disappointing result last night. However I want to take my time to thank @worflags and the fanbase for this incredible experience walking onto the pitch and see this! Truly overwhelming and a moment I will never forget. We go again on Saturday!"
Newcastle return to action Saturday afternoon with a trip to Crystal Palace, before hosting league leaders Liverpool a week on Wednesday on their return to St James Park.
