Alisson surprises Liverpool fans with new look ahead of Bournemouth game
Alisson has gone for a bold change, surprising fans by shaving off his trademark beard.
The Brazilian goalkeeper, who's been sporting facial fuzz since joining the Kop, debuted his clean-shaven look before the team's upcoming home game against Bournemouth. A clip showing a bare-faced Alisson turning up at training captures him exchanging banter with teammate Alexis Mac Allister.
While a lot of supporters gave thumbs up to his new appearance, some were left less than thrilled. A fan lamented: "My day has been significantly ruined" - while another expressed: "I don't like this at all folks." A concerned fan even had a cautionary message for Arne Slot's team, commenting: "Why did he shave his Aura? We're about to concede for fun."

However, past performances suggest no need for worry - Alisson's form remains solid, beard or no beard. Cast your mind back to when Liverpool faced Southampton in November 2022, with a smooth-faced Alisson helping the team cruise to a 3-1 victory and one of his typical stand-out displays.
Harvey Elliott even joked that a beardless trend might be on the cards. Elliott said at the time: "I think he’s going to have to shave his beard every game now!
"So many times he has kept us in the game and it’s nothing new from Alisson, to be honest. He’s an unbelievable ’keeper as well as an unbelievable human being, so we’re all very proud of him.
"For us he’s the best goalkeeper in the world and to be playing alongside him and know you have that reassurance with him at the back in the goal is always a nice feeling - but sometimes we just need to make sure we’re there to help him out as well!
"But at the end of the day he’s, as I said, the best ’keeper in the world and sometimes that’s what you have to do."
Alisson will be looking to replicate his success against Bournemouth this weekend, aiming for his fourth clean sheet under Slot's management.
