Alisson and Trent Alexander-Arnold moment spotted by fans on Liverpool tunnel cam video

Alisson was spotted giving Trent Alexander-Arnold instructions following a defensive error during Liverpool's win over Brentford. The Reds secured their second successive 2-0 victory in the Premier League under Arne Slot on Sunday thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.

On Monday, Liverpool released exclusive footage from the game on social media, featuring behind-the-scenes clips from both the pitch and inside Anfield's tunnel. One clip showed Alexander-Arnold being outmanoeuvred by Bees' winger Keane Lewis-Potter, who cut inside the right back and got a shot away.

It was a routine save for Alisson, 31, but that didn't stop the Brazilian sending his team-mate a stern message. As he rose to his feet, Alisson grabbed Alexander-Arnold's attention and slapped his right leg, as if to remind the 25-year-old that Lewis-Potter was right-footed, and likely to keep trying to jink inside.

Fans rushed to the comments section to heap praise on Liverpool's No. 1, with plenty left impressed by his communication skills. "Alisson the goat," one supporter fawned.

Another said: "Alisson telling Trent that Lewis-Potter will keep cutting inside because he's right footed. Class." A third beamed: "My keeper. Makes a top save, then offers Trent advice."

Despite being one of the Premier League's best technical players, Alexander-Arnold can receive some flack regarding his off-the-ball awareness.

Midway through the second half against Brentford, Alexander-Arnold was substituted for Conor Bradley, just as he was during Liverpool's opening weekend victory over Ipswich. And judging by his post-sub reaction, he wasn't very happy about it.

After exiting the field, Alexander-Arnold appeared to have something of a tense exchange with Slot after slumping down in his chair in the dugout. The coach later explained that he was simply managing Alexander-Arnold's playing time due to his late arrival at Liverpool's pre-season camp following England's Euro 2024 campaign.

"I understand every player wants to play 90 minutes," Slot said. "But the players on the bench from the start were also not really happy with my choices. Trent came back from national team where at the beginning of the tournament he played quite a lot and then he didn't. He had a few weeks off and then came back.

"It's only his third game and we have to take care of him as well because we need him for the whole season and not only the first two games.

"What a good thing for me is that I have a very good backup with Conor as well. We are taking care of Trent, but he played a good game."

With less than a year left on his contract, questions about Alexander-Arnold's long-term future at Liverpool are swirling. Rumours of a potential move to Real Madrid have been circulating, although it's believed that Liverpool remain hopeful he will sign a contract extension in the coming weeks.

Salah and Virgil van Dijk are in the same boat as Alexander-Arnold contract-wise, and when asked about their futures, Slot said: "If we bring the best out of them and they perform really well then it's up to them if they want to sign and us if we give them a new contract.

"The main thing for all of them, if you're out of contract or not, is to get the best performance as possible and there is where I should and will help them with my staff, to bring out the best of them."

Up next for the Reds is a trip to Old Trafford on Sunday as they take on arch-rivals Manchester United before the international break.
