Alistair Johnston Celtic injury latest as Jesse Marsch provides fresh update after Canada sub
Jesse Marsch has provided an injury update on Alistair Johnston after he picked up a knock on international duty with Canada.
The Celtic defender was forced off during his side's 2-1 win over neighbours USA yesterday evening and that triggered fear among the Hoops support who have been impressed with their full-back's start to the season. With Champions League games also on the horizon, punters were hopeful the issue wasn't too serious.
And now head coach Marsch has moved to allay any fears with a fresh explanation on Johnston's issue as well as a hopeful timescale for the 25-year-old's return to action.

He said: "Alistair said he felt a little bit of tightness in his hamstring and he felt it was smarter to step out. I am hopeful that he will be okay."
Johnston was a standout for Celts in last weekend's 3-0 win over Rangers at Parkhead where he provided an assist for Daizen Maeda's opener.
Anthony Ralston would be the Canadian's likely deputy while new summer signing Alex Valle - brought in to play at left-back - has played on the right-hand side at Barcelona.
