Alistair Overeem and Stefan Struve Agree to Meet at UFC on FOX in December

A heavyweight bout has been verbally agreed to take place between Alistair Overeem and Stefan Struve at UFC on FOX 13, officials announced late Wednesday evening.

The Overeem-Struve affair adds to the developing fight card that is scheduled to take place Dec. 13 at the US Airways Center in Phoenix.

Overeem (37-14, 1 NC) is looking to build momentum towards a win streak, as the one-time heavyweight contender has lost three of his last four outings. In his last fight, “The Reem” tested Ben Rothwell, only to suffer a technical knockout in the first round.

Struve (25-6) hasn't fought since March of 2013 due to a heart condition that forced him to the sidelines and threatened his career. He was supposed to make his comeback against Matt Mitrione at UFC 175, but health issues the day of the event forced him to withdraw from the bout.

Also added to the card is a middleweight fight between Derek Brunson and Ed Herman, officials announced. A main event for the Dec. 13 fight card was not revealed at the time of this publication.
