Ally McCoist delivers definitive response to I’m a Celeb appearance poser as he reveals Rangers pal's hilarious one-liner
Rangers legend Ally McCoist looks to have finally killed off talk of an appearance on I’m A Celeb – and revealed close pal and former team-mate Ian Durrant’s hilarious response to being told.
Bookies made the football legend odds-on to appear in the jungle later this year having been high on the wishlist of ITV bosses for several years and it looked like they were finally about to get their man.
The goalscorer-turned-pundit has been lauded for his positive, humorous, and knowledgeable turns on co-commentary duties. But despite approaches from I'm A Celeb chiefs in 2019 and 2022, the Rangers hero turned them down.
And show hosts Ant & Dec look set to be disappointed again. Reading out a question from a listener, McCoist’s talkSPORT radio breakfast show co-host Jeff Stelling asked him directly if he would be appearing and he said: “No. There's your answer.”
Stelling said: “That’s a definitive no…” and McCoist added: “It’s brilliant, my wee mate Durranty phoned me, he says, What a decision you’ve got to make - sitting on the half way line in the best seats in the house, at the San Siro watching Inter Milan vs Man City or Inter Milan vs Arsenal - or eating a bag of spiders. It’s not bad, is it?”
