Alpine skiing-Paris sets up thrilling decider for downhill prize

March 12 (Reuters) - Italy's Dominik Paris surged into contention for the World Cup downhill title after his second successive victory in Kvitfjell, Norway on Saturday left him four points off the top of the standings with one race left. Paris, who won in Chamonix last month, won by 0.20 seconds from Valentin Giraud Moine of France with American Steve Nyman fractionally back in third place. Peter Fill, who is level at the top with injured Aksel Lund Svindal, could only manage 10th. Paris, second in the world championships in 2013, could grab the globe with a strong finish at the World Cup finale in St Moritz next week when Norway's Kjetil Jansrud could also be in contention to retain his downhill crown. Jansrud, fifth in front of his home crowd on Saturday, is 54 points adrift. (Reporting by Martyn Herman, editing by Pritha Sarkar)
