Alvyn Sanches Celtic transfer link as Lausanne set asking price with interest heating up

Celtic have an interest in Lausanne midfielder Alvyn Sanches but face plenty of competition, according to a report.

The 21-year-old Swiss star has had an impressive campaign and that has put him on the radar of a number of clubs. Sanches was born in France but has been capped at youth level for Switzerland. He thrived individually over the past campaign, scoring six goals from 27 appearances despite the team's struggles.

A number of clubs in the English Championship as well as around Europe are now tracking him, reports the Express. The Hoops are believed to be one of them and sent scouts to watch the player at various times across last season. They retain their interest ahead of the transfer window opening.

Brendan Rodgers is said to be a big fan but Celts will need to meet Lausanne's asking price of £4.3million to do a deal. And they will face competition from Stoke City and Coventry City. The other interest is from Germany, France and the Netherlands.

Sanches has already played in more than 100 senior games and is rated as one of the brightest prospects in Switzerland. His club is owned by Jim Ratfcliffe's INEOS which has just secured a stake in Manchester United.

Celtic are also believed to be in talks with Benfica over a permanent deal for Paulo Bernardo but it's not known if that could impact any move for Sanches.
